Six Days Until Script Frenzy
The month of March flew by a lot faster than I expected it to. I am now staring down the approaching start of Script Frenzy in less than 6 days. While I am still in a toss up between a screenplay and a tv script for a 1 hour drama program, at least I have some ideas for either of them when I finally choose.
If you are doing script frenzy, I am curious what you have decided to do. I just met someone else the other day who is doing a comic book – I wouldn’t mind trying that at some point, but its definitely not my thing. My step-daughter could illustrate it though, because my gift is writing – it is absolutely not drawing.
On that note, we are headed out to the lake this afternoon to take advantage of the beautiful day we have. I haven’t written on the beach since September and I am REALLY looking forward to it. Plus, this time I get to take my mini laptop which will be so much easier and more compact then dragging my full size Dell laptop with me. (and risk getting sand in the keyboard!)
Soooo, that said – I’m going to grab another cup of coffee and go sit in the back yard and enjoy my gorgeous weather and get some writing time in. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Script Writing Software
Was a bit worried about getting started on writing a script, because I realized there is a lot to learn and a lot of formatting that needs to be done. I was hoping to find a software program that would help with that. I asked around and I think I found the perfect fit – It is called Celtx and while I haven’t actually used it to write a script yet, I have played around with it a lot and I like it. I haven’t found anything else comparable yet (except Final Draft but that isn’t FREE).
There is a professional version of Celtx also, called Celtx Studios. I have not used that either, and don’t see any reason too. It looks like it is a monthly subscription for that product, but the download for Celtx was completely free and you don’t have to join the studios portion.
To download a completely free version of Celtx – go here.

Committing To Script Frenzy
I have done a lot of research, bought a couple of books, and done a lot of reading over the past couple of weeks and I have decided AND committed to doing Script Frenzy. The best part is, I am not doing it alone for the first time. My step daughter has participated in NaNoWriMo for the past 3 years and neither of us have even thought about doing Script Frenzy before.
For some reason this year it looked much more appealing to me and I told her about it. She instantly said yes, and we are both going for it. (makes me think that if I had been doing it all along she probably would have gone along with it too!)
So we are committed to Script Frenzy 2010. Are you?
(p.s. I even had to make a new category for it with this post)
