Sampling of Wedding Photos
I was surprised by how many online friends asked if I had photos yet from my wedding and wanted to see them. First, I don’t have the professional photographs yet, probably in about 2-3 weeks. Second, I was lucky enough to have three amazing photographers at my wedding – one was paid, one is my mother who used to do this a long time ago, and one is my best friends husband (Joe), who I will never cease to understand WHY he isn’t doing this for a living.
I have already gotten back a few friends candid amateur photos and they actually turned out great, but my mom and Joe’s were awesome. I am only sharing a few of them.
Here is where we got married:

Here is a group shot taken of the kids: (they are looking @ the actual photographer)

With these just being a few of my favorite that I have gotten back – can you see how antsy I will be before the professional photos come back?

Took a little break and… got married!
Yes, you read that right. I was supposed to do a post about 2 weeks ago telling everyone about it, but then I got sidetracked (go figure) and just never did. So, ahem… yes I got married. Thursday was my wedding and it was beautiful. It feels weird to be married again though. It’s been 10 years since I got divorced – that’s a long time to get used to that.
The wedding was amazing. The day was perfect, and we only had our very closest friends and family there, so I was surrounded by so much amazing love. Plus, after spending four years with my now husband and his three girls, I was ready for the commitment. It was so special.
I won’t be changing my name completely. I will be holding onto my current last name since I have made a name in my writing with it, but I will be adding my new last name to the whole thing. You will see that on facebook and twitter if you follow me.
I will post some photos when I have a moment. Our professional shots probably won’t be back for about a week or two, but when they do I will definitely show those off.
And now, since all the distractions are over with, I will finally be getting back to everything and anything … writing.

That New Show – Castle
Sure, I believe that there are many people who still don’t know about the television show Castle, even though it is already in it’s second year and nearing the end of the 2nd season. However, it is certainly not a new show. Not by any stretch of the imagination. It first aired in March 2009 and at the end of the 1st season, there was some talk about cancelling the show. Thankfully, nearly every writer I know rallied together and wrote to the network to support the show.
If you’re a serious writer, it seems almost odd that you wouldn’t know about the fantastic TV series starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic (pictured to the right). A quick premise of the show was found on TVRage.com.
When mystery-thriller writer Richard Castle, played by actor Nathan Fillion, is called in to help investigate a series of copycat murders based on his books, he finds he enjoys the experience sufficiently to want to continue it. Pulling strings, he arranges to accompany NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, played by actress Stana Katic, claiming he wants to study and use her as a personality basis for his next book series. But their personalities don’t mesh — Castle’s fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants detective style greatly clashes with Beckett’s more conservative and methodical approach to the crimes, but the new life that Castle has begun couldn’t have been scripted better by himself.
I think Castle is living every writers dream. To live in the shoes of what you are writing about. At any rate, the show has been on quite awhile. I was really irritated last night (probably more so that was necessary) when I was in the car listening to a local radio station and they announced that “ABC had a new series called Castle that is airing tonight” (last night). Seriously, if you are doing a radio spot or a commercial for a network station or even a series, shouldn’t you have some clue if the show has been on the air before. The DJ was talking about it like it was brand new and a can’t miss TV show. In fairness, I love Castle, so I loved that it was getting some airtime and media attention, but I just wish the guy could have had his facts checked or just said “Hey, watch Castle on ABC tonight at 9pm. It’s a great show you can’t miss”. That makes more sense.
Do you ever get bothered by media attention to something that everyone else already knows exists but is suddenly being touted as new? Or am I just bothered alone and being silly? (btw. I’m totally over it today, it was just aggravating).

Thankful

I received this YEARS ago in an email and saved it. I am trying to clean up my email and thought I would post it here.
I AM THANKFUL:
FOR THE WIFE WHO SAYS IT’S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME, AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
FOR THE HUSBAND WHO IS ON THE SOFA BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
FOR THE TEENAGER WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.
FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED.
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH..
FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.
FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.
AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.
Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!

Script Frenzy in Full Swing
Well, Script Frenzy is in full swing, and I have gotten a handful of pages typed up and a lot of notes. I feel like this might be easier than I thought, which is a good thing, as I have my other projects I cannot abandon this month.
I have met some great people over on twitter lately, and have been coaching, cheering on, mentoring and being mentored by writer’s of all types. I love the social networking aspect and realized it is exactly what I have needed/wanted, that my blogging was missing.
I updated the template on this blog. If there are any problems, please let me know. It was time for a change and I really liked this template. Stop by and say hi!
Are you doing Script Frenzy? How’s it going?!
