If you aren’t a writer, you might now know what that is, and it probably sounds like some kind of disease or something. But don’t a lot of those big words? So what is a Sesquipedalian? It is basically a strange big word for someone that likes using big words. I actually am, but I try not to use big words, because general consensus is that it makes articles and conversations hard to manage for people with more basic language skills. Why did I post this today?
I love this word. I love big words that mean little things too.
In the Urban Dictionary (which I don’t find myself using very often, since I strongly dislike words that aren’t “real”), I found the word Neologasm. Neologasm is the pleasurable feeling from having coined a new word. It is essentially a combination of neologism and orgasm.
According to Wikipedia, Neologisms are words and terms that have recently been coined, generally do not appear in any dictionary, but may be used widely or within certain communities. Protologisms are neologisms that have not yet caught on widely. (In fact, “protologism” is a neologism to be avoided.)
So all in all, the whole thing might confuse some, but I love words, period. So big words, that mean little things capture my attention, which is why I wrote all this. Plus, I am bored today and had no other post to post.
